Avéli® Cellulite Treatment
Avéli® is a one-time cellulite treatment that releases fibrous bands for lasting results. Smooth, firm skin starts here.

Cellulite is extremely common, affecting the vast majority of women at some point in their lives. It most often appears as dimpling or depressions of the skin on the buttocks and thighs. Although cellulite is completely normal, it can persist regardless of weight, fitness level, diet, or exercise.
One reason cellulite can be difficult to improve is that it is not simply a problem at the surface of the skin. Some cellulite dimples are created by fibrous connective tissue bands, called septa, that tether the skin to deeper tissue. As the surrounding tissue pushes upward, these tethered areas remain pulled downward, creating the characteristic dimpled appearance.
Avéli® is an FDA-cleared, minimally invasive treatment designed to address these structural bands beneath the skin. During a single procedure, the specific septa responsible for individual cellulite dimples can be identified and released, allowing the skin above them to appear smoother.
Avéli is a minimally invasive cellulite treatment designed specifically for the structural cause of cellulite dimples on the buttocks and thighs.
Unlike treatments that primarily address the skin’s surface, Avéli works beneath the skin. The handheld device allows the surgeon to identify the fibrous septa associated with an individual dimple, release them, and confirm that the tether has been adequately treated.
This approach is known as Targeted Verifiable Subcision. Because each visible dimple can be evaluated individually, treatment can be tailored to the patient’s particular pattern of cellulite rather than treating an entire area uniformly.
Avéli® offers a science-backed approach to treating cellulite, combining precision technology with minimally invasive techniques to deliver lasting results in just one treatment.
With its proven outcomes, quick recovery, and targeted design, Avéli® provides a safe and effective solution for smoother, dimple-free skin.
Treatment begins by examining the buttocks and thighs while the patient is standing so the individual cellulite dimples can be identified and marked. After the treatment area is anesthetized, the Avéli device is introduced beneath the skin through a small entry point.
The procedure then involves three important steps:
The procedure typically takes about one hour, depending on the number of dimples treated. It is performed under local anesthesia in an office setting.
Ideal candidates for Avéli are those who want to directly address cellulite dimples with a single, minimally invasive procedure that delivers long-lasting improvement.
An important part of the consultation is determining whether the irregularities you see are actually caused by cellulite septa.
Not every contour irregularity is cellulite. Skin laxity, stretch marks, localized fat, and other causes of uneven texture may require a different treatment. Avéli is specifically designed to address cellulite dimples associated with fibrous septa.
Understanding what Avéli does not do is just as important as understanding what it does. Avéli is not a weight-loss procedure, liposuction treatment, or skin-tightening procedure. It does not remove excess skin or significantly reduce localized fat. Its purpose is to release the fibrous septa responsible for specific cellulite depressions.
During your consultation, your anatomy can be evaluated to determine which visible irregularities are likely to respond to Avéli and whether another treatment would be more appropriate for concerns such as excess fat or loose skin.
Because Avéli is minimally invasive, recovery is generally much shorter than recovery from traditional body-contouring surgery. Bruising, swelling, soreness, and tenderness are common after treatment. The treated areas may feel sensitive while the tissues heal beneath the skin.
Many patients are able to resume routine daily activities relatively quickly, although strenuous exercise and other activities may need to be limited during the initial healing period. Bruising and swelling can remain visible for several weeks and gradually improve as the treated tissues heal.
Your surgeon will provide specific instructions regarding activity, exercise, compression garments if appropriate, and when you can return to your normal routine.
Because the tethering septa are mechanically released during the procedure, improvement in individual dimples may be noticeable relatively early. The treatment area can initially be obscured by swelling, bruising, and tissue changes associated with healing, however. The appearance generally becomes easier to evaluate as those effects resolve.
Clinical studies of Avéli have demonstrated improvement in cellulite appearance that persisted through at least 12 months of follow-up. As with any cosmetic procedure, individual results vary. The number of dimples treated, severity of cellulite, skin quality, anatomy, and healing response can all influence the final result.
Cellulite is not one single problem, and every indentation or area of uneven skin should not automatically be treated the same way. The advantage of Avéli is its specificity. When a visible cellulite dimple is being created by a tethering septum, the procedure allows that individual structural band to be identified and released.
A consultation allows your surgeon to examine the areas that concern you, distinguish cellulite dimples from other causes of contour irregularity, and determine whether Avéli is an appropriate treatment for your anatomy.
How much does Avéli treatment for cellulite reduction cost?
The price of Avéli varies based on the number of cellulite dimples treated and whether additional body contouring procedures are planned. A detailed quote will be provided after your consultation with Dr. Shain Cuber.
How long do results from Avéli last?
Clinical studies show visible smoothing that lasts at least 12 months. Many patients continue to see improvement beyond a year, especially if they maintain a stable weight and healthy lifestyle.
How soon can I return to exercise or normal activities?
Most patients return to daily activities within 24 hours. Light exercise can typically resume in a few days. We will provide detailed guidance for a safe and comfortable recovery.
Can Avéli treat severe cellulite?
Avéli is most effective for mild to moderate cellulite. Patients with more significant skin laxity or deeper dimples may benefit from additional or combined procedures for best results.
Is Avéli safe?
Yes. Avéli has undergone rigorous testing and is FDA-cleared. In clinical studies, no device-related serious adverse events were reported. The most common effects are temporary bruising, tenderness, and mild swelling that usually resolve within a few weeks.
How is Avéli different from Cellfina, lasers, or massage devices?
Avéli uses Targeted Verifiable Subcision, allowing us to confirm that each fibrous septum causing dimpling is completely released. This provides lasting results in a single treatment session, unlike some other options that require multiple visits.
Does Avéli help with skin tightening or fat removal?
No. Avéli is designed to smooth cellulite dimples by releasing fibrous septa. It does not remove fat or tighten loose skin, but it can be combined with other treatments to achieve a more complete result.
Am I a candidate if I have stretch marks or loose skin?
Stretch marks or mild laxity do not prevent you from benefiting from Avéli. We will evaluate your skin and may suggest pairing Avéli with other body contouring procedures to address multiple concerns at once.
Will I need repeat treatments?
Most patients see their desired results with one Avéli session. Additional treatments can be performed later if new dimples appear.
