Latisse® is an FDA-approved topical treatment designed to enhance natural eyelash growth. Its active ingredient, bimatoprost, was originally developed to treat glaucoma but was found to promote longer, thicker lashes as a side effect.
Available only by prescription, Latisse comes with sterile applicators and is applied once daily along the upper lash line. With consistent use, many patients see noticeable improvement in as little as 8 weeks, with full results by 16 weeks.
How to Use Latisse
To get the best results from Latisse, it’s important to follow the application instructions carefully and consistently.
- Apply Latisse once daily to a clean upper lash line using the provided applicator
- Use a new, sterile applicator with each use to prevent irritation or infection
- Do not apply to the lower lashes or reuse applicators
- Continued daily use is necessary to maintain results
If treatment is discontinued, lashes will gradually return to their original appearance over time.

Since lashes grow in cycles, Latisse works by extending the growth phase of active lashes. Results build gradually, with noticeable improvement by week 8 and full enhancement by week 16.
Latisse does not damage existing lashes. If you stop using the product, your lashes will slowly return to their pre-treatment state.
