What Happens During VOLUMA® Treatment?
Treatment begins with a conversation about what you see and what you would like to change. Our aesthetic providers then assess your facial anatomy, proportions, movement and any previous filler treatments.
VOLUMA is placed strategically according to that plan. Because the product contains lidocaine, a local anesthetic, it is formulated with patient comfort in mind during injection.
Temporary swelling, tenderness, firmness, bruising or redness can occur following treatment. Your aesthetic provider will explain what to expect based on the areas treated.
How Long Does VOLUMA® Last?
VOLUMA is one of the longer-lasting hyaluronic acid fillers in the JUVÉDERM collection, but duration depends on where it is placed, how much is used and the individual patient.
Rather than choosing a filler simply because it lasts longer, our aesthetic providers consider its characteristics and whether they match what a particular area needs.
VOLUMA®, Sculptra® or Another Filler?
They solve different problems in different ways.
VOLUMA provides hyaluronic acid volume and structural support directly where it is placed. Sculptra works gradually by stimulating your body’s own collagen production. Other JUVÉDERM products have characteristics that make them useful for different areas and treatment goals.
You do not need to decide which syringe you need before you come in. Tell us what bothers you. Our aesthetic providers can determine which approach makes the most sense.
Start With Your Face, Not the Filler
If changes in your cheeks, temples, chin or facial contours are bothering you, our aesthetic providers begin by looking at your face as a whole. We consider where volume has changed, how your features relate to one another and what you would actually like to improve.
Sometimes restoring support in one area can improve the balance of several surrounding features. The goal is not to add volume everywhere it has been lost, but to identify where treatment can make the most meaningful difference.
From there, we can determine whether VOLUMA® is the right product, where it should be placed and how much is appropriate for your anatomy. Your treatment plan is built around creating a balanced, natural-looking result that still looks like you.
Who Is a Candidate for VOLUMA®?
VOLUMA may be appropriate for adults who want to restore age-related facial volume or refine specific facial contours without surgery. Good candidates may be concerned about cheek volume loss, temple hollowing or chin projection.
But candidacy is not simply a checklist of features. How those features relate to the rest of your face matters, which is why the decision begins with an individualized facial assessment.
