Richard V. Balikian, MD
Dr. Balikian is an experienced, double board certified, facial plastic surgeon. He is double board certified both in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as well as Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Balikian belongs to a very select group of elite cosmetic surgeons with at least six years of specialized surgical training exclusively in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck.
Dr. Balikian grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Columbia University in New York City. During his time as an Art History major, Dr. Balikian developed an interest and spent time studying the concepts of beauty throughout history. Dr. Balikian went on to graduate from Boston University Medical School, where he was honored and elected to the AOA Medical Honors Society for graduating in the top ten percent of graduating physicians. After medical school, he completed an internship in General Surgery, followed by four years of residency training in Head and Neck and Facial Plastic Surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. During this time Dr. Balikian developed a keen knowledge of the intricate anatomy of the face, head and neck. He was awarded the prestigious Davidoff Award for achievement in teaching.
Dr. Balikian was then personally selected by one of the world's top cosmetic facial surgeons, to pursue an additional year of highly specialized training. During this time, Dr. Balikian developed his own private Facial Plastic Surgery practice, performing the full range of facial plastic surgery procedures for his patients. Dr. Balikian was actively involved in teaching the intricacies of facial plastic surgery to young surgeons at the Indiana University School of Medicine, where he held the appointment of Clinical Instructor of Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Balikian then moved his practice to the Inland Empire in the Temecula Valley.
Throughout his career, Dr. Balikian has published numerous articles in medical journals and has authored textbook chapters related to plastic surgery of the face, head and neck. Dr. Balikian also maintains membership in several professional societies. He has been enthusiastically involved with charitable foundations such as the “Face to Face” program, which provides victims of domestic violence pro-bono cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. In his free time, Dr. Balikian loves to cook and play golf.

Vincent P. Marin, MD
Dr. Marin is a native of San Diego and a graduate of some of the most prestigious universities in the world. He attended the University of San Diego High School which led to his acceptance into Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. Dr. Marin brought some of his Southern California flair to the east coast and captained the Men’s volleyball team for each of his four years, led them to an Ivy League Player of the Year Honors his senior season. He later graduated with honors and a degree in Biological Anthropology.
He later continued his education at one of the most prestigious medical schools in the world, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City established in 1767. It was here that Dr. Marin developed his passion for both cosmetic and reconstructive Surgery. During his training, he furthered his commitment to the specialty by pursuing an additional year post- graduate research in the field. During this period, Dr. Marin authored a number of articles published in the premiere peer-reviewed journal, Plastic Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Marin then pursued his formal training in Plastic Surgery at the Baylor college of Medicine centered in the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world. Baylor has an illustrious history in the field of Plastic Surgery, as it was the birthplace of the silicone breast implant in 1961. This provided Dr. Marin a wealth of training opportunities in both cosmetic as well as the reconstructive arenas where he was chosen to serve as Chief Resident during his final year.
At the conclusion of his training, Dr. Marin was given a once in a lifetime opportunity to join one of the world’s best plastic surgeons, Dr. Jack Gunter. Dr. Gunter authored numerous articles, including a number with Dr. Marin. This provided Dr. Marin with an opportunity to perform hundreds of operations and learn specialized techniques directly from the surgeons who developed them.
Dr. Marin was also chosen to serve as teaching faculty at The Dallas Aesthetic Surgery Symposium and taught Plastic Surgeons from all of the country at the premiere national meetings of The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).
After completing his post-graduate training, Dr. Marin returned home to San Diego to establish his practice specializing in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Marin performs cosmetic surgery of the breast and body while continuing to provide reconstructive services to patients recovering from both cancer as well as trauma. Doctor Marin is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (the only board recognized by The American Board of Medical Specialties ABMS), a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), an elected member of the American Society for Aesthetic Surgery (ASAPS), a member of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons, the San Diego Society of Plastic Surgeons, faculty at the Dallas Aesthetic Symposium.
Dr. Marin is the youngest of five children, and lives near his parents as well as his ten nieces and nephews in San Diego. He spends his free time relaxing with his family, photography, and travel.
